Make-Ahead, Storing and Reheating

Brew the perfect coffee, add cream and voila, your Kaffeecreme is ready!

This coffee cream recipe is perfect for making ahead of time, as it can be stored in the fridge for several days. However, it is important to note that it may become slightly thicker as it sits in the fridge. To offset this, simply give it a quick whisk before serving to ensure a smooth and creamy texture.

To store the coffee cream, transfer it to an airtight container and place it in the fridge. It can be stored like this for up to 5 days.

When it comes time to reheat the coffee cream, simply place it in a saucepan over low heat and stir until warmed through. Be sure not to overheat or boil the cream as this can cause it to lose its smooth texture.

One handy tip is that this coffee cream also freezes well if you want to make a larger batch and save some for later. Simply transfer the cooled coffee cream into a freezer-safe container and store it in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Whether you’re planning on making this coffee cream recipe ahead of time or simply have leftovers that you want to store, following these guidelines will ensure that your coffee cream remains deliciously creamy and unforgettable.

To achieve perfect results with this coffee cream recipe, here are some tips to keep in mind:

1. Use extra strong coffee: The flavor of the coffee cream heavily relies on the strength of the coffee. Stronger coffee will give you a richer flavor profile.

2. Be patient when boiling: When boiling the mixture of cream, milk, and sugar, it’s important to be patient and let it come to a full boil. This helps ensure that the sugar is completely dissolved and the consistency of the mixture is even.

3. Mix cornstarch with cold water: To avoid lumps in your coffee cream, ensure that you mix cornstarch with cold water before adding it to the hot mixture.

4. Stir constantly: While cooking the mixture over low heat, stir continuously to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan and burning.

5. Chill for at least 2 hours: After cooking the coffee cream, chill it in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight. This will give the ingredients enough time to come together and create a creamy texture.
