Mixing dry ingredients

Before we begin, preheat your oven to 350℉. In a large mixing bowl, add 4 cups of almond flour, 1/4 cup of coconut flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 4 teaspoons of cinnamon. Using a wire whisk mix all the ingredients together and ensure there are no lumps.

Mixing wet ingredients

In another mixing bowl, whisk together 3 large eggs, 1 cup of maple syrup, 1/2 cup of coconut oil melted and cooled and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Make sure all the ingredients are well integrated.

Combining wet and dry mixtures

Now, combine both mixtures and gently fold with a rubber spatula until everything is evenly mixed. Be careful not to overmix since it may harden the cake.

Pouring batter into your grease pan

Take your grease 9×13 inch cake pan and pour in the batter. Make sure to spread it as evenly as possible. If you want you can sprinkle some pecans or cashews over the batter before putting in the oven.

Time to bake

Put your mixture in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when tested. Let cool for 15 minutes at room temperature.

The Paleo Coffee Cake Recipe can be customized to suit your preferences by experimenting with different ingredients. Here are some substitution options and variations to try out:

– Coconut oil: You may substitute unsalted butter for coconut oil or vice versa, depending on your dietary preferences. Alternatively, you could use yoghurt as a replacement for the oil.

– Sweeteners: Use honey, maple syrup or coconut sugar instead of refined sugar. If you’re looking to reduce the sweetness level, consider adding in mashed banana.

– Flour alternatives: Gluten-free or grain-free flours work best with this recipe; experiment with arrowroot flour or coconut flour as a substitute for almond flour.

– Nuts: Don’t like pecans? Sub them out for cashews or walnuts instead! Or try adding in some toasted sliced almonds on the cake top before baking.

– Spices: While cinnamon is a go-to spice for coffee cakes, consider subbing it out for pumpkin spice blend or apple cinnamon blend – this will add variation to your meal!

– Fruit: For a different twist, cranberry sauce or apple cinnamon puree drizzled over the top before serving would add more flavor and variety.

One of the great things about this paleo coffee cake recipe is that it can be made ahead of time and stored for later. Once the cake has completely cooled, you can wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil and keep it at room temperature for up to 2 days.

You can also store the cake in the fridge for up to a week, but be aware that it may dry out if left too long. To avoid this, consider wrapping each piece of cake individually in plastic wrap before storing it in an airtight container.

If you’d like to freeze some of the coffee cake for later, wrap individual pieces tightly in plastic wrap and store them inside a resealable freezer bag. The cake should last up to 3 months in the freezer.

To reheat the coffee cake, simply place it on a microwave-safe plate and heat it up in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. Alternatively, you can wrap it in foil and warm it up in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for 10-15 minutes.

When reheating individual portions, be sure to only reheat what you need so that you don’t dry out any unused portions. Trust me, once you taste this delicious paleo coffee cake, you’ll want to savor every last bite!

Tips for Perfect Results

To ensure you get a perfectly baked paleo coffee cake, there are some tips that can come in handy during preparation. As an experienced baker and lover of this recipe, I have tested and experimented with several techniques that work well with these ingredients. Here are some tips to help you get perfect results every time you bake this delicious cake.

1. Mix Ingredients Thoroughly

One of the most critical steps is mixing all the ingredients thoroughly. Make sure that you use a large mixing bowl to mix the dry ingredients to avoid clumps. I recommend using a whisk or fork to blend them together before adding your wet ingredients. This step ensures that your dry mixture is evenly mixed, which will prevent lumpy cake batter.

2. Use High-Quality Ingredients

When making any recipe, using high-quality ingredients is one factor that can either break or make it stand out. Since this cake is grain-free, using high-quality almond flour and coconut oil will add natural flavors and moisture to your cake while keeping it gluten-free. Choose unsalted butter instead of standard butter for best results.

3. Stick to Room Temperature Eggs

Using room temperature eggs allows the batter’s ingredients to blend perfectly, resulting in better texture and crumb structure. It also prevents undercooked portions of the cake.

4. Measure Accurately

It’s essential to use precise measurements when baking this cake recipe. Using accurate measurements for baking soda powder and flour will prevent incorrect ratios that affect the final flavor and results.

5. Don’t Overmix Your Batter

Overmixing the batter may lead to a dense cake or cause the ingredients available high-altitude bakeries – like ours -may take longer than usual if you live at the sea-level as reported by Epicurious, so avoid too much mixing.

6. Use the Right Cake Pan

It would be best if you used the right size pan when making this recipe- 9-inch springform pan works best. Other pan sizes might change the recipe’s texture, and some parts of it may look over-baked.

By following these tips, you’ll be able to get your perfect paleo coffee cake every time, allowing you to enjoy your tasty, healthy coffee cake in all seasons.
